Your first design

A design is one 3D model plus everything a customer may choose about it. This walkthrough creates a simple design with one colour and two sizes.

1. Create the design

In Mouldr click New design, give it a title and keep the design type Uploaded model.

2. Upload the model

On the Design tab, upload your model under 3D model. Mouldr accepts 3MF, STL and GLB files. A 3MF file exported from your slicer is the best choice: it keeps the parts of your model apart, so each part can get its own colour, and it keeps your plates and print settings for later. The model appears in the preview on the right. Drag to rotate it.

3. Choose colours

On the Colours & parts tab every part found in the model is listed. Pick which filament colours the customer may choose for each part and set the default. See Parts and colours.

4. Add sizes and prices

On the Sizes & prices tab add a size for each format you sell, for example Small and Large, with a price each. If a size is its own file, upload it on that row. See Sizes and prices.

5. Link a product and publish

Under Shopify product pick the product the design belongs to, or let Mouldr create one. Click Save, then Publish. Mouldr creates or updates one product variant per size so Shopify can charge the right price.

Open the product in your store: the Customize button is there, and the designer shows your model with the colours and sizes you set.
