Print files

Every ordered configuration has one print file: a 3MF with every part of the model in the colour the customer chose.

Downloading from the order

Open the order in Shopify and follow the _production_file_url property on the line. The link is signed for that configuration, so it works from any browser without logging in to the app. The file is named after the configuration id, for example cfg_7ca7dbe77089143683f3f17a.3mf.

Downloading from Mouldr

Follow _configuration_admin_url instead to open the configuration in Mouldr. Click Download print file in the page header. If a customer asks for a change after ordering, adjust the choice on this page first and download again; the order stays as it was.

What is in the file

  • When you uploaded a Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer project, the print file is your project: plates, print settings, supports and painting are kept. Only the filament slots change: each part is assigned to a slot and the slot colours are set to the ordered filaments. Parts ordered in the same colour share a slot.
  • When you uploaded STL files or a 3MF from another tool, Mouldr builds a new 3MF with one object per part and a material in each ordered colour.

Open the file in your slicer and map the slots to the filaments you have loaded. See Bambu Studio.

Designs without colour choices

A design that offers no colours links your production file as uploaded. If the design has sizes or styles with their own files, the file for the ordered size or style is linked.
